Our Story

"Folks just need to slow down and say 'thanks'."

The story behind A Sweet Reminder

All the ingredients for A Sweet Reminder first came together in 2002. A North Carolina couple decided to create a business where they could work together, preserving the lost art of thanking people in an era ruled by impersonal e-mails and palm pilots.

The husband recalled how, after buying his first used car, he received THREE personal thank you notes from the dealer. The wife, who was a wonderful baker, suggested starting a business delivering boxes or tins of fresh baked cookies, complete with a personalized note — and A Sweet Reminder was born.

At first, the couple baked and shipped A Sweet Reminder cookies from their home, generating orders from word-of-mouth alone. After two years of growing th cookie delivery business,  the couple opened a bakery in Raleigh, North Carolina. s A Sweet Reminder cookies are delivered around the worldand still baked fresh daily with the same pride, love and care our founders showed when they first made them in their own home.

Cookies for the cure

In the early days of A Sweet Reminder, our founders discovered they had much to be thankful for after facing and defeating breast cancer. That’s why we make a very special box of cookies with the sweetest ingredient of all — hope. For every pink box of fresh-baked cookies we sell, A Sweet Reminder donates half the profit to breast cancer research.
